SoundToMIDI is a browser-based audio-to-MIDI converter and a practical guide to getting cleaner, more useful transcriptions.
Drop in an MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, OGG or supported video file and the converter estimates its notes, timing and dynamics. The result is a standard MIDI file you can edit in a DAW or notation app.
The transcription model runs locally in your browser. Your source audio is not uploaded to SoundToMIDI. That privacy-first design also means the speed of a conversion depends partly on your device.
No audio-to-MIDI system can perfectly separate every instrument in a dense mix. A clean vocal, lead, bass, piano or other isolated part usually gives a more workable result than a mastered song with several parts playing at once.
Our gear guides start with the job a reader needs to do. We look for recurring questions in musician and recording communities, then check connection types, dimensions and other factual details against current manufacturer documentation. Retailer pages are used to confirm that a product is still findable, not as proof that it is the right choice.
We do not describe a product as personally tested unless we actually tested that unit. Community experiences are identified as user reports and linked to their original discussions. Subjective claims about key feel, microphone tone or driver reliability are treated as context rather than universal facts.
Recommendations are organized by fit: room, desk space, input count and workflow. We avoid live prices because they change, and we include the date a buying guide was last checked. If a specification or link is wrong, please send a correction.
