File support & processing time

A short clip may take 30 seconds–2 minutes; longer audio can take several minutes or more. Device speed and the first model download affect timing.

MP4/WebM need a browser-readable audio track. If a video will not open, export MP3 or WAV. For files over 100 MB, shorten the recording or extract its audio.

Profiles adjust detection, pitch bends and cleanup. You can fine-tune them in Advanced settings.

Is this audio to MIDI converter really free?

Audio conversion, Raw MIDI, editing and score previews are free without sign-up or daily limits. Sign in for your first complete project export free. Buy additional project exports with a one-time pack; purchased exports do not expire. Each project unlock includes later edits and downloads. Orders follow your account. Optional cloud saves include project data and MIDI; audio backup requires a separate checkbox. Cleanup and notation use the same transcription model.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

Conversion does not upload your audio. Saving a project uploads your edits, settings and MIDI. Original audio is uploaded only if you select the audio-backup checkbox.

What audio formats can I convert to MIDI?

The converter accepts MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, OGG, and MP4/WebM files with a browser-compatible audio track. Codec support depends on the browser. For the cleanest result, use a clear recording where the melody or instrument stands out.

How accurate is the AI transcription?

It uses Spotify's Basic Pitch model, which is polyphonic and works across instruments. Clean, isolated parts (piano, guitar, vocals, leads) transcribe best; dense full mixes are harder, as they are for every audio-to-MIDI tool. You can fine-tune onset and note thresholds in Advanced settings.

Can I convert an MP3 to MIDI?

Yes — MP3 to MIDI is the most common use. Drop your MP3 in and download the MIDI. The same works for WAV, FLAC and M4A files.

Which apps can open the MIDI file?

The exported .mid is standard MIDI and opens in any DAW or notation software: Ableton Live, FL Studio, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cubase, Reaper, MuseScore and more.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. It runs in modern mobile browsers too. Larger files take longer on a phone since all the processing happens on your device, conversion does not upload audio. Cloud backup is optional.
